About the Artist
I've always been fascinated by the idea of parallel universes and the transitional spaces between the seen and unseen. As an artist, I'm driven to explore these themes through my paintings, mixed media works, and collage. There's something about the juxtaposition of light and shadow, and all that lies between, that compels me. I truly believe in the existence of portals to alternate dimensions that coexist alongside our earthly plane, and I try to translate that sense of wonder and possibility into my art. My hope is to bring viewers on a journey of self-reflection, inviting them to view the world through my unique multifaceted lens.
My creative process is very much an immersive and organic one.
Many decades spent at my cottage on the rugged shores of Georgian Bay has provided me with a lifelong source of inspiration. Whether I'm working with watercolour, collage, oil, acrylic, or mixed media, my approach is defined by an experimental sensibility. I'm always striving to capture that dynamic interplay of vivid hues, intriguing textures, and an ethereal, otherworldly quality that hints at the mysterious realms just beyond our perception. It's an intuitive, meditative process as I seek to translate my fascination with the liminal onto the paper or canvas.
I've been exploring the artistic mediums of photography, painting, and mixed media since I was a child. Although my professional career since the late ‘90s has been in the world of Investment Management, I have found the perfect balance to that hectic, often chaotic world by nurturing my creative passions. Over the years, my work has been featured in group exhibitions at the Women's Art Association of Canada and annual Ojibway Art Show, and can be found in private collections across North America.
At the end of the day, I create art to share my unique perspective on the world, inviting others to expand their own perceptions of reality and the unseen realms that exist all around us.
